Live music:
Le Chat Lunatique
As unpredictable, fearless, and entertaining as their namesake, Le Chat Lunatique purveys an
addictive genre they call “filthy, mangy jazz,” a signature sound that makes you want to
smoke and drink too much—if only you could get off the dance floor. Le jazz hot of Django
Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli is their north star, but they use that beacon to navigate
through a wide range of genres, blending Western swing, classical, reggae, doowop, and
“anything else we damn well please” into strikingly original compositions and audaciously
reworked standards alike.

DJEd music:
Yossef Mendelssohn
Yossef's cared about music selection and ordering for as long as he can remember. It used to be carefully crafted mix tapes, but then the years passed, there was a digital revolution, he moved beyond wooing people with others' work, and he had to find some other outlet for his creative expression. Luckily, he'd started swing dancing by then.
As a dancer, Yossef knows the joy of riding along from one great song to another, hearing just the right music to inspire you to keep on boppin' (whilst possibly also moppin'). As a DJ, he's happiest when creating that experience for the crowd on the floor. And as a big ol' geek, he's ready to have involved, rambling conversations about music, DJing, and dancing just about anytime. In fact, he's a big fan of people approaching him to talk about a track that was (or should have been) in his set, just as long as they don't mind being put on hold while the next song gets cued up.
